Joel Christopher’s Master ListBuilder Fun Shop in Singapore

Firstly, this isn’t a plug to sell you something so that I can earn a quick buck. I don’t really earn my money promoting affiliate programs. But just thought this might interest you if you’re around Singapore in Oct.

Joel Christopher aka The Master List Builder will be coming to Singapore this October and he’d be organizing a 3 day workshop called “Master ListBuilder Live, Interactive, Hands-On Fun Shop” on October 5, 6, & 7, 2007. Just in case you haven’t heard of Joel Christopher, here are some names who have attended his MLB Fun Shops and whom he has done JVs with:

  • John Reese
  • Armand Morin
  • Willie Crawford
  • Alex Mandossian
  • Mike Litman
  • Jason Potash
  • Joe Vitale
  • Ted Nicholas
  • Terry Dean

I’m pretty sure you know how valuable it is to create a HUGE and RESPONSIVE email list of subscribers. So I shall not dwell on the topic of list building here. But what Joel Christopher promises is a hands on, interactive, step-by-step workshop where you have your laptops on the spot to work through the exercises. After all experts say that you learn the most when you are involved in the task at hand.

Here’s a quick preview of what you can expect from the workshop…

So if you are anywhere interested, you might want to hurry and check out the details at Master ListBuilder Fun Shop or by Clicking HERE as Joel is offering a 1 for 1 special until 31st August 2007.

Yups its an affiliate link and it pays out 10% commission. But here’s what I’ll do.

If you clear your cookies and buy through my link. I’ll just simply rebate you the 10% after I’m paid the commission, reason being that I’m not promoting this to earn anything. But more so for your benefit. And of course if you’re in Singapore, we can most certainly catch up over coffee before or after the workshop. Just drop me an email at alvin (at) alvinhuang.com after making payment and we’ll work out the rebate details. =)

Article Directory List - Free Resource

Shane from the warrior forum compiled an Article Directory List which I thought will be useful for you if you are heavy into article marketing (or Bum Marketing).

He listed them according to their page rank and listed down the exact login or submit URLs. So it’d save you a lot of time if you are heavy into article marketing. And of course its free.

Alternatives to Outdated Yahoo/Overture Keyword Tool

It has been a while since Yahoo! Search Marketing mentioned that they would no longer be supporting the Overture Keyword Research Tool

Andy Beal reported this in May 2007 but yet we still see many internet marketers and gurus recommending this tool. Or worse still, using it. So much for perfect knowledge spreading fast among the internet eh.

Probably the main reason why a significant portion of people are not in the know is because the Overture Keyword Research Tool still gives you the keyword search results.

OUTDATED keyword results that is! It returns to you data drawn from Jan 2007. Bummer eh.

Just do a search on anything at http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion and see for yourself how rotten…Oops…old the data is.

Overture Keyword Outdated Results

Implications

If you are just interested in generating a monster keyword list for Pay Per Click (PPC) of 5000 to 20000 keywords, then the numbers will probably not matter that much.

But if you are using them for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) purposes, then the keyword estimates and rankings might matter a lot more for you. Especially if your niche market is seasonal, then the searches in January might not be indicative of real searches. Imagine gunning for the wrong keywords in your anchor text backlinks and other SEO efforts.

Listed below are the keyword tools/services that are still drawing data from from outdated overture data. So if you are still using them. Take the results with a pinch of salt.

Outdated Services

Note:
Two free services listed above estimate Google and MSN searches by multiplying Yahoo Search results by 2 and dividing it by 2 respectively. Imagine if the margin of error for outdated January data is 10-15%. The error for Google and Msn results would be further magnified through these estimates.

Applications drawing from Outdated Overture data:

Note:
Some of the applications mentioned above have the capability to draw data from keyword services like WordTracker, KeywordDiscovery etc, but that requires a separate subscription and doesn’t come included when you buy their products.

Ok so which free services can you use for keyword research then? Try these:

http://www.keyworddiscovery.com/search.html

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

ttp://www.nichebotclassic.com/

http://www.kwmap.com

http://www.hittail.com

http://www.longtailadwords.com

For paid services, you can try these.

Jing: Free Alternative to Camtasia

I came across this free tool called Jing Project which allows you to create screenshots or video shots of your computer screen. And with a slight twist in that you can share the images or videos instantly with your friends or whoever online. Below is a short introduction of Jing which I created using Jing Project

Its a decent alternative for those of you who do not want to fork out hundreds of dollars for Camtasia Studio.

Results Have Been Announced by Andy Henry:

OK…… It’s THAT time.

It’s been really difficult to pick the top 3 since there are so many great posts.

The most difficult thing for me personally was that some particular posts really resonated with me, but we too generic to be applied to everyone.

For me, someone saying “look at things from a customers perspective, address their pains, be unique and don’t let anything get you distracted from your plans” would really hit home, but I know that for many Warriors that advice would be ‘fluffy’ and they wouldn’t get value - so I’ve had to think really hard about which posts/posters to pick.

But here’s the final line-up:

1st place ($1000) goes to ——- Bev Clement for her excellent (and VERY long) post regarding getting serious, creating a plan (I REALLY believe this makes a massive difference), and then setting goals and keeping on top of things.

2nd place ($500) goes to ——– Dr Mani for his excellent ‘Lessons from an Email Marketing Campaign’ post which cuts to the core of the issue of needing to stand out and go the extra mile. Lazy marketing is great - if you want lazy results, especially when emailing your lists.

3rd place ($125) goes to ——– Jason (Profit) Moffett for his corny and ill-prepared video. Although while I was watching it I was thinking “he can’t possibly expect to win with this”, he was actually communicating (in his own way) a really useful principle, and being different and getting noticed, aswell as giving value was demonstrated while he talked about it. We call that walking the walk, so credit where it’s due :)

I was going to post a list of ’special thanks also’ to posts that nearly won, but the list ended up being massive so I’ll just say a big THANKS to everyone who took the time and effort to make a post and share value with their fellow Warriors.

Your friend,

Andy.

P.S - Don’t stop posting your tips just because the money has gone……

Free SEO Tool for Browser

I shared on this free SEO tool on the Warrior Forums earlier this month. Just thought I’ll share it again here.

This tool is free and something might have heard of it. But for those that haven’t this makes life much easier. At least for me. Especially when you are eyeballing the competing websites manually, it does spark up some ideas even when browsing non-IM related websites. I use keyword analyzer but heck this is free.

This is a plugin for Firefox or Internet Explorer, Seoquake allows you to obtain and investigate many important SEO parameters for any website that you are browsing. You can set the parameters that you want shown.

For example, Pagerank, google, yahoo, msn linkbacks, domain age, alexa ranking, IP address (you don’t want to rent multiple links from websites with the same Ips), digg and Technorati links and more…

Free Seo Tool Example 1

You can set the parameters too when you do a search using the major search engines. Besides showing the websites, it can list all the mentioned above parameters at one shot. An example is listed in the image below.

Free Seo Tool Example 2

Seoquake is downloadable for free at www.seoquake.com

I am in no way related to them, the only gripe after installing this tool is that websites might load a bit slower than usual as seoquake would be simultaneously requesting for information on the parameters you requested for.
